rtIt cf CORDLESS PHONE OPERATION NOTE This instruction is provided for the Plant/NRC Liaison to use the cordless pPone in the TSC to communicate with NRC using the ENS circuit with a cordless phone instea of the orignal desk phonh rovided. The original desk phone is retained as a backup.

To setup and operate the cordless phone:

Pic up the cordless phone handset in the Plant/NRC Lj Ison work area.

Ensurqthat the toggle switch mounted on the wall immediately behind the cordless phone Itin the "forward" position.

Ensure tA AC adapters for the phone and the ba ery charger are plugged into an outlet.

Ifdesired, attach the headphone attachment t the handset by inserting the headphone jack into the rhqeptacle on the handset. Th UTE button may be used to deactivate the headphone m crophone as desired. Pr ss the MUTE button again to activate the microphone.

Use the holster to a ach the handset your waist as desired.

When ready to assum ENS duties, ick up the cordless handset and determine ifthe Control Room is on lin. Ifa di tone is received, establish communications by dialing the ENS number xactly as listed on the wall.

The cordless phone willallow you to ransmit from any location in the TSC.

The battery is changed by release the ttery from the back of the handset and inserting a charged battery in its place. Put (he disch ged battery in the charger adjacent to the phone.

NOTE: The ENS connectio will not be br en until the phone is turned off, runs out of power, or hung up. Batte change out requir that the NRC be contacted per step 1.f, above.

Volume of the hands speaker may be adjusted f comfort using the up or down arrow buttons on the side the handset.

Ifthe cordless h dset fails to operate, contact with the NRC may be re-established using the original ENS p ne.

Un lug the phone line labeled, "NRC/ENS" froIn the wall switch behind the c rdless phone unit and plug that line into the orI inal ENS desk phone. Re-establish ontact with NRC as described in step 1.f above..2 PROCEDURE NUMBER 13.10.6 REVISION 18 PAGE 9of9
