Systematic Assessment of Licensee Performance (SALP) for Washington Nuclear Project No.
2 and WPPSS Letter G02-82-946 dated November 23, 1982.
This refers to the SALP for Washington Nuclear Project No.
2 conducted by this office for the period July 1, 1981 through July 31, 1982, and discussed with your staff at a meeting on November 3, 1982.
The list of attendees is attached as Enclosure 1.
The NRC SALP Report is attached as Enclosure 2; Washington Public Power Supply System letter G02-82-946 dated November 23,. 1982, which we requested in our letter dated October 27, 1982, provided licensee commitments for performance improvements.
These letters are attached as Enclosures 3 and 4.
Overall, your performance of licensed activities was found to be acceptable.
Two weaknesses were identified in the areas of design and installation of electrical
- systems, and implementation of corrective actions proposed in Construction Deficiency Reports.
During the meeting of November 3, 1982, we discussed our assessment of your performance in these areas.
We have reviewed your letter of November 23,
- 1982, and determined that your actions to improve performance in the ar eas needing increased attention are responsive.
V We consider that our meeting was beneficial and improved mutual understanding of your activities and our regulatory program.
Based on your comments during the meeting and your 1'november 23 letter, we have found that no changes to our assessment are necessary.
