We wfl'l advise you when our limited resources permit us to schedule a review of your proposal.

You should be aware that we are presently discussing crzfteria for near-site emergency centers with industry representatfves and have tentatively con-cluded that an emergency center could be placed up to three miles, as measured along a road, from the nuclear power plant ft fs supporting ff there is no intervening impediment (e.g.,

a town).

You state that the proposed site fs about three-quarters of a mile from WNP-2 and about one and one-half miles from WNP-1 and ltNP-4, The stated purpose oi'our letter is to provide the staff with an opportunity to revfeii your proposed site.

You also indicate that lacking any negative comment from us within 30 days, you will consider the proposed near-site emergency center meeting our approval.
