CURRENT EXAMINATION- R. E. GINNA NUCLEAR POWER PLANT
REGION I INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-244/93-02
This letter forwards the results of an inspection intended to promote public health and safety
conducted by Mr. P. Patnaik of this office, March 23 - 27, 1993, at the R. E. Ginna Nuclear
power plant, Ontario, New York. Mr. Patnaik discussed
the findings with your staff on
March 27, 1993, at the conclusion of the inspection.
This inspection included observations
of nondestructive testing, component fabrication in progress,
a review of the inservice
inspection program for the reactor coolant system and the eddy current examination of steam
generator tubes.
These are all important aspects of maintaining pressure boundary integrity.
Within these areas,
the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures
and
representative
records, interviews with personnel and observations by the inspector.
Within
the scope of the inspection, no violations were observed.
No response to this letter is
required.
