office on June 4-8,
1990, of activities authorized
by
NRC license
number
and to the discussions
of our findings held with J.
Widay of your staff at the
conclusion of the inspection.
Areas
examined during this inspection
are described
in the
NRC Region I Inspec-
tion Report which is enclosed with this letter.
Within these
areas,
the
inspection consisted of selective
examinations
of procedures
and representative
records,
interviews with personnel,
and observations
by the inspector.
Our inspector also verified the steps
you had taken to correct the violation
brouoht to your attention in a letter dated
December
29,
1988.
We have
no
further questions
regarding
the steps
you took to correct
Item A.
Within the
sco'pe of this inspection,
no violations were observed.
This inspection identified that adequate
management. controls
had not been put
in place for the
AMSAC system.
During the exit meeting held following this
inspection,
Mr. J.
Widay, advised that Rochester
Gas
and Electric Corporation
would provide
a response
to the
NRC describing
plans to provide additional
management
controls including operational
and administrative
procedural
cover-
age for the
AMSAC system.
The response
requested
by this letter is not subject to the clearance
proce-
dures of the Office of Management
and Budget,
as required
by the Paperwork
Reduction Act of 1980,
PL 96-511.
