conducted
on January
9 through

20,
1990, at the
R.
E. Ginna nuclear
power plant by
NRC Region I't
the
end of the inspection period,
Messrs.
C. Marschall
and
N. Perry of my staff
discussed
the inspection, findings with Mr. S. Spector
and other members of your
staff.
As set forth in the enclosed
RGKE personnel
failed to
promptly correct
an inadequate
method for verifying position of the
steam ad-
mission check valves in the auxiliary feedwater
system.
The resident
inspec-
tors questioned
the adequacy of this method of verification during
a previous
surveillance
in December
1989, but the concern
was not appropriately
addressed.
