Steam Generator Tube Sleeving R. E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant Docket No. 50-244
Dear Mr. Stahle:
By letter dated February 7, 1986, the NRC Staff issued an SER approving steam generator tube sleeving using a design by Combustion Engineering.
This SER was based on C-E Report CEN-320-P which addressed sleeve lengths of 27 to 36 inches.
In order to have access for sleeving of tubes closer to the periphery of the steam generator, it is our desire to use a
25 inch sleeve.
This sleeve would be used at those locations inaccessible to a 27 inch sleeve.
Design criteria and analysis to support the shorter sleeve length has been produced as Addendum 1-P to the C-E report referenced above.
The design criteria, installation and inspection techniques are essentially unchanged.
Consistent with previous discussions with the Staff, it is our intention to implement this change in tube sleeve design subject to RGaE's review per 10CFR50.59.
In order for us to expeditiously pursue this design
- change, please provide an indi-cation of your concurrence with this application of 10CFR50.59 by November 13, 1987.
If we do not receive an indication by this
- date, we will assume your concurrence and proceed with the program as planned.
Ve truly yours, Roger W. Kober 500024II'
