Dear Mr. Maier:
Your submittal of March 1, 1982 requested that the NRC staff approve Rochester Gas 8 Electric Corporation's (RG8E) plan to remove a limited number of tube. samples from Ginna's "B" steam generator for metallurgical examination.
Based on the information in your submittal and the information presented.
at a meeting 'with members of-the NRC staff on March 1, 1982, we concur
'ith RGKE's plans as described in the March 1, 1982 letter.
We also
,agree that the removal of a limited number of other tubes might provide additional valuable information. If this should be the case we request that we be informed prior to the removal of such tubes.
We look forward to meeting with you again in the next two or three weeks, after you have inspected the tube samples, to discuss the finalized plan of your recovery program.
