[External_Sender] RE: Finninger's Farm (Oyster Creek)
- John, As per our telephone conversation, I was going to reach out to our NJDOT contact to determine whether or not they purchased the property. They have not, but they are finalizing the execution of an Agreement. To that end, could you please find out if the NRC is willing to write a letter that more definitively releases this property for unrestricted use? Its OK if the answer is no, we just need an answer quickly.
Thanks Jenny Jenny Goodman, Manager NJ Department of Environmental Protection Bureau of Environmental Radiation Mail Code 25-01 PO Box 420 Trenton, NJ 08625-0420 Phone (609) 984-5498 Fax (609) 984-5595 24 Hour Emergency 1-877-WARN DEP http://www.state.nj.us/dep/rpp/ber/index.htm http://www.nj.gov/dep/aqes/index.html NOTE: This e-mail is protected by the Electronic Communications Privacy Act, 18 U.S.C. Finninger's Farm (Oyster Creek)
Importance: High
- Jenny, Attached, as requested, is the application from AmerGen for disposal of the dredged material in accordance with 10 CFR 20.2002 to Finninger Farm.
2 By the attached letter dated December 14, 2001 (ADAMS Accession No. ML013370031), the NRC approved the request to dispose of the dredged material to Finninger Farm in accordance with 10 CFR 20.2002. The NRC staff found the licensees application to dispose of about 180,000 cubic yards of dredged sediment would result in a potential annual dose to a member of the public of less than 1 mrem. This calculated dose was well within the 10 CFR Part 20 annual dose limit of 100 mrem and less than the decommissioning criteria for unrestricted use of 25 mrem in a year. The NRC staff found the licensees application, pursuant to 10 CFR 20.2002, would not have an adverse impact on the public and was acceptable.
Thanks.
John
