The Commission has issued the enclosed Supplement No.

3 to the February 14, 1979 Fire Protection Safety Evaluation '(FPSE) for the R. E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant.

This supplement revises the requirements of Item 3.1.30, Fire Door Supervision, as stated in the February 14, 1979 FPSE.

This revision is in re-sponse to your request dated June 3, 1981 and has been approved because the requested alternative means of fire door supervision is one of the methods specified by Appendix R to 10 CFR 50.

No schedule extension to meet fire protectIon'equirements is included in this Supplement.
