STEAM GENERATOR SLEEVING - TUBESHEET SLEEVE Re:

Ginna Nuclear Power Plant By letter dated March 23, 1984, you requested approval to install no more than ten (10) tubesheet sleeves of a modified design.
The request was based on the efforts made in developing improvements in inspectability, the results of recent steam generator tube inspections, and modifications to the tube-sheet sleeve design to improve both inspectability and reduce the effect of postulated tube defects in the tubesheet region.
Additional information was provided by letters dated March 30, and April 23, 1984.
We have completed our evaluation of your request and its supporting analysis.
Based on our evaluation, we have concluded that tubesheet sleeving of'o more than 10 tubes is acceptable.
We are also encourged by your continued efforts to enhance the eddy current inspection capability.
Our review is documented in the enclosed Safety Evaluation.
