This is in response to your letter of August 31, 1983, regarding your practice of confirming out of specification chemistry sample results by analyziag-a second sample prior to taking any action which may be required by Technical Specifications or your Station Procedures.
We have reviewed this practice and do not concur. Various Technical Specifica-tions require chemistry sampling and analysis to assure operability and compliance with limiting conditions for operation.
When an initial. sample and analysis indicates an out of specification condition. you must comply with the action specified in your Technical Specifications or Station Procedures until such time that you have completed action to correct the out of specification condition or re-analysis indicates acceptable results.
