Ginna Nuclear Power Plant By letters dated February 22 and Parch 18, 1985, you requested approval to install no more than 65 tubesheet sleeves.

'"The request was based on the continuing efforts made in, developin'g improvements in inspectability, the results of recent steam generator tube inspections, and modifications to the tubesheet sleeve design to improve both inspectability and reduce the effect of postulated t'ube defects in, the tubesheet region.

We have completed our evaluation of your request and its supporting analysis.

Based on our evaluation, we have concluded that tubesheet sleeving of no more than 65 tubes is acceptable during the 1985 refueling outage.

We are also encouraged by your continued efforts to enhance the eddy current inspection capability and recommend that efforts in this area continue.

Our review is documented in the enclosed Safety Fvaluation.
