TIME TESTING
1.0 PURPOSE
1.2 To provide instructions for testing the trip response time of the reactor trip breakers from a trip signal to the undervoltage coil.
To provide instructions for testing the trip response time of the reactor trip breakers from a trip signal to the shunt coil.
2.0 TEST RE UIREMENTS:
2 ~ 1 To demonstrate that the reactor trip breakers open within 0.167 seconds (10 cycles) of a trip signal to the undervoltage coi,l or tithe shunt trip 'coil.
Should the response time exceed 8 cycles the breaker.
shall either be repaired or tested again in six months.
3.0 REFERENCES
3.1 RG&E Drawing 33013-673, Ginna Station Reactor Breaker Schematic.
4.0 INITIALCONDITIONS 4.1 Test may be conducted with plant at hot or cold shutdown status.

Reactor trip breakers are available for service.
4.3 Install simulators to satisfy reactor trip signals.

Test personnel are qualified in accordance with A-1102.
4.5 Notify Shift Supervisor and Head Control Operator prior to starting test.

5.1 PRECAUT1ONS
Observe normal company safety practices.
6.0 INSTRUCTIONS
6.1 Electric Shop place Reactor Trip Breakers into the operating position.
6.2 6.2.1 Train "A" Testing.
At the Train "A" Reactor Protection Racks set up test equipment per attached sketch.
6.2. l. 1 Connect Trace 3 to Fox 1 rack per attached sketch.
6.2.2 Close "A" Reactor Trip Breaker by actuating RTA set switch in RLTR-1 Rack.
6.2.3 Start visicorder, and then energize Breaker Trip Coil by actuating RTA Trip Switch in RLTR-1 Rack.
6.2.4 Label visicorder trace 6 calculate trip response time.

6.2.5 Close "A" Reactor Trip Breaker by actuating RTA set switch in RLTRl Rack.
6.2.6 Start visicorder, and then de-energize breaker UV coil by activating the Zirconium Guide Tube Interlock Trip Signal.
