office on October 24-27,
1988 'at R. E. Ginna Nuclear
Power Plant, Ontario,
New
York, of activities authorized
by NRC License
Ho. DPR-18 and to the discussions
of our findings held by Mr. Dev with you and members of your staff at the
conclusion of the inspection.
Areas
examined during this inspection are described
in the
NRC Region I
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter.
Within these
areas,
the
inspection consisted of selective
examinations of procedures
and representative
records,
interviews with personnel,
and observations
by the inspector.
Within the scope of this inspection,
no violations were identified.
However,
your attention is warranted to the observations
and concerns
identified herein
and in applicable
paragraphs
of the attached report.
In particular,
concerns
were identified,
as discussed
in Paragraphs
2.3.3, 2.3.4 and 2.3;5, relative
to the controls applied to the storage
and handling of equipment
and materials
at Ginna.
You are requested
to review the concerns identified and to respond
to the
HRC within thirty days of receipt of this letter describing your actions
to address
these
concerns.
The response
requested
by this letter is not subject to the clearance
procedures
of the Office of Management
