GINNA NUCLEAR STATION "SAFETY SYSTEM FUNCTIONAL INSPECTION" (SSFI)
Gentlemen:
This letter is to confirm the telephone conversation between you and Mr. Suresh K. Chaudhary of my staff, on October 20,
- 1989, announcing the safety system functional inspection (SSFI) to be conducted at the Ginna Station during the week of November 6 through December 8,
1989.
This SSFI is to focus on the
- design, operation, maintena'nce, and configuration of components of residual heat removal (RHR) system.
The SSFI team will initiate preparation and system documents review at the NRC Region I office on November 6, 1989.
We request that Rochester Gas and Electric provide. background information on the RHR system to NRC at the Region I office no later than November 3, 1989.
The type of information requested, and the schedule of the inspection is listed in Enclosure 1
to this letter.
