315 524-4446 EXT. 396 at Ginna MONTH Au ust 1989 The unit operated at 100% reactor power level for the majority of the report period, with exceptions detailed below.

On August 1, 1989, the unit remained shutdown due to a Micro-processor Rod Position Indication System (MRPI) failure, which occurred on July 29 1989.

At 1430 EDST, August 11, 1989, the unit went online.

On August 28, 1989 at 0936 EDST, the reactor power level was reduced to 654 due to a problem with the Rod Control System.

The exact cause is unknown at this time.

Westinghouse is investigating the problem.
