issuance of New NRC Personnel Edentification Badges As of November 1,

1980, the U.

S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission will be issuing new laminated photo-identification badges to all NRC personnel.

The employee's name, color photograph, badge number and NRC office location appear on the front side of the badge, with'the employee's signature, date of birth, physical description and the facsimile signature of Raymond J.

Brady, Director, Division

. of Security, appearing on the reverse side.

'A sample copy of the front and reverse side of the new photo-identification badge is shown in the attachment to this letter.

The purpose of the new badges is ta provide positive identification of NRC personnel visiting licensed facilities and whose names are included in the access authorization lists provided by NRC Region I.

During the interim period from November 1,

1980 through, November 30,

1980, NRC personnel may utilize either the new or the old picture badges.

However, after November 30, 1980, all NRC personnel will present the newly-issued badges for identification when visiting licensed facilities.
