1.0 PURPOSE

To describe the steps necessary to ensure this maintenance is, performed safely, efficiently, and to document critical steps and/or information.

Sections 3.4, 4.8 3.0 INITIAL CONDITIONS:

3.1 All labor, materials parts and tools necessary are available.

3.2 The pump has been removed from service,

held, and is available for maintenance per T-41D.

3.3 3.3.1 3.3.2 The following have been notified.

4.1 PRECAUTIONS

Obtain spare parts per A-801..

5.0 INSTRUCTIONS

5.1 Concurrent with this major inspection, perform and complete minor inspection.

M-ll.5C Complete NOTE: If installing new rotating impeller shaft. assembly, mark associated steps N/A.

5.2 5.3 5.4 Inspect the pump packings.

Note packing condition.

Inspect the shaft sleeves.

Note condition.

Inspect shaft sleeve nut seals.

Note condition.

M-ll.5B:2 5.5 5.5.1 5.5.2 Remove pump head according to manual and inspect the following:

Inspect eleastic seal rings.

Note condition.

Inspect balance disk and balance disk head.

Check clearances and record them.

5 '.3 Remove discharge stage piece and inspect seventh stage impeller.

Note condition.

5.5.4 5.5.5 Inspect first stage casing ring.

Note condition.

Remove each stage diffuser and impeller and inspect.

Note condition.

5.5.6 Inspect pump shaft for runout and mechanical damage.

Record data and note condition.

5.6 Reassemble pump according to manual with special care to the following:

5.6.1 During reassembly check each stage casing ring clearance.

Note condition:

(Record Clearances).

5.6.2 During reassembly shim the thrust bearing for correct shaft axial position.

Check balance disk clearances.

Note condition.

(Record clearances).

5.6.3 Tighten pump casing studs until secure, making a final pass to ensure all studs are tight.

5.6.4 After the pump is completely reassembled, turn the rotor'y hand to ensure it isn't bound.

5.7 Disassemble and inspect lube oil pump, motor, and cooler.

5.8 Additional comments, repairs made, parts

used, applicable purchase order numbers, measurements and data.

(Use additional sheets if necessary).

Results of return to service inspection should be recorded here.

5.9 Remove markups on the pump.

5.10 Notify the Shift Supervisor maintenance is complete and that performance testing is required before the pump is declared fully operable.
