Dear Mr. Grier:
In response to Inspection and Enforcement Bulletin 79-24 concern-ing freeze protection of specific lines during extremely cold weather, the following informa tion is provided.

1.
Process lines there are two lines which have sections that are'not protected by heated buildings.
These are the "B" Steam Generator Main Feedwater line and Main Steam line.
In the ten years of plant operation, there has never been an indication of freezing; this includes some extended outages during the severe winter months.
2.
Instrument lines all lines are adequately protected within heated buildings.
