SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE DOCKET NO.

0-2 UNIT Ginna Station Unit /!1 DATE October ll 1979 COMPLETED BY Andrew E. McNamara MONTH Se tember 1979 TELEPHONE 1-716-546-2700 Ext. 291-205, at Ginna The Reactor Power Level averaged n 100% for the Report Month.

The only exceptions were some power level reductions of short duration to perform

'he monthly turbine stop valve test and the periodic test of the Auxiliary Feedwater System.

C

GINNA STATZON iMXNTENANCE REPORT FOR SEPTEMBER 1979 During September, normal inspections and minor maintenance was performed.

Major safety related maintenance included:

1.

Replacement of the Vaportec Light oil installed in the Turbine Driven Auxiliary Feedwater Pump per IE Circular 78-02 with the old type oil Mobil DTE797.

The Vaportec Light Oil became gummy, clogging the gover-nor components.

The governor was cleaned and the unit returned to service.

2.

Checkout of the Bus 16 Breaker from the 1B Diesel Generator Feed.

Operations was not able to tie the diesel to this bus during the monthly periodic test.

The cause was attributed to a dirty relay contact.
