GINNA NUCLEAR POtlER PLANT RECORD STORAGE FACILITY This.is in response to your letter of September 7, 1979. in which you indica'te that you plan to consider paragraph 17.4 of Revision 1 of NRC's Standard Review Plan (NUREG-75/087) in the design of,a new record storage facility.

Paragraph 17.4 provides alternatives to the fire protection requirements for storing records given in Reg'ulatory Guide 1.88 (Revision 2).

From the standpoint of fire protection of records, a facility which meets paragraph 17.4 is acceptable to us as an alternative to a facility which meets part 5.6 of ANSI N45.2.9-1974 as endorsed by Regulatory Guide 1.88 (Revision 2).
