.=OR TH" CLASS IE DC BUS The battery chargers and their associated circuitry should be designed as Class IE circuits in accordance with IEEE Std. 308-1972 and IEEE Std. 279-1971.
Additional information and bases for our review of the proposed modifications to the Class IE DC power system is required in'the following areas:
1; Identify the IEEE Standards, and other criteria, and/or'basis used to qualify the newly added equipment.
2.
Regulatory Guide 1.6 requires that at least one interlock be provided to prevent an operator error that would parallel the redundant DC systems.
Discuss the interlock provisions incorporated to satisfy the intent of Regulatory Guide 1.6.
3.
Regula'tory 1.75 requires that the circuits and electric equip-ment comprising or associated with the Class IE systems and their auxiliary supporting systems be designed to provide physical and electrical independence.
Describe the measures that will be taken to assure electrical and physical independence of the redundant IE divisions.
