DOCKET NO.: 50-389 UNIT: St. Lucie I2 DATE: February 13, 1996 COMPLETED BY: J.A.ROGERS TELEPHONE: (407) 467-7296 REPORT MONTH Unit 2 remained off line for Cycle 9 refueling until January 5 when it returned to service and operated at reduced power for reactor startup physics testing. During power ascension, the unit was manually tripped due to a failed temperature control valve on the generator hydrogen cooling system. When the unit was returned to service on January 7, reactor power ascension was resumed. On January 8, power was held at approximately 43 percent to repair the 2A Main Feedwater Pump. Power ascension resumed January 9 and continued through January 10. The unit then operated at essentially 100 percent power for the remainder of the month.
In accordance with the requirements of Technical Specification 6.9.1.6, there were no challenges to the power operated relief valves or the safety valves during the report period.
