C. 20555 RE: St. Lucie Unit 1 and Unit 2 Docket Nos. 50-335 and 50-389 Proposed License Amendments Containment S ra S stem Surveillance Re uirements Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.90, Florida Power 6 Light Company (FPL) requests to amend Facility Operating Licenses DPR-67 and NPF-16 for St. Lucie Unit 1 and Unit 2, respectively. The proposed amendments will change the surveil'lance interval specified for performing an air or smoke flow test through the Containment Spray headers from 5 years to 10 years. The proposed surveillance interval is consistent with NUREG-1432, "Standard Technical Specifications for Combustion Engineering Plants" and staff recommendations contained in NUREG-1366, "Improvements to Technical Specifications Surveillance Requirements". Approval of the proposed amendments is requested by December 31, 1993.

Attachments 1 and 2 contain copies of the appropriate TS pages marked-up to show the proposed changes. Attachment 3 is an evaluation of the proposed TS changes. Attachment 4 is the "Determination of No Significant Hazards Consideration."

The proposed amendments have been reviewed by the St. Lucie Facility Review Group and the Florida Power S Light Company Nuclear Review Board. In accordance with 10 CFR 50.91 (b)(1), copies of the proposed amendments are being forwarded to the State Designee for the State of Florida.
