LARGE BREAK LOCA REANALYSIS (TAC k'66367)

In your letter dated August 25, 1987, you pr ovided the results of the St.

Lucie Plant, Unit 2 large break LOCA reanalysis that was performed by Combustion Engineering to reflect the use of a recent NRC-approved large break LOCA evaluation model and the numerical change of a few input parameters.

The staff has completed its review of the submittal.

As a result of this review, the staff concludes that the St. Lucie Plant, Unit 2 is in compliance with the criteria of 10 CFR 50.46 and Appendix K to 10 CFR Part 50, and that the large break LOCA reanalysis is acceptable.

Our safety evaluation is enclosed.
