In accordance with the general license issued by 10 CFR § 72.21 O for the storage of spent fuel in an independent spent fuel storage installation (ISFSI), the NRC is hereby notified that Southern California Edison (SCE) will begin the first storage of spent fuel at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) ISFSI using the Holtec HI-STORM UMAX system (CoC 1040 Amendment 2) on or after November 6, 2017-. This letter serves as the notification required by 10 CFR § 72.212(b)(1)(i).
