Dear Mr. Woody:
The purpose of this letter is to acknowledge receipt of your April 8, 1986 letter regarding the proposed use of the control rod group exchange technique as described in Combustion Engineering (CE) Report number CEN-319 entitled "Control Rod Group Exchange Technique".
We have performed a safety evaluation of the proposed technique and have forwarded it, on April 16, 1986, to Mr. Rick W. Wells, Chairman of the Combustion Engineering Owners Group (CEOG).
We found the technique acceptable for use by CE and members of the CEOG for measuring control rod group or bank reactivity worths.
Our acceptance is predicated upon meeting two conditions as described in our safety evaluation.
