USE OF USNRC TLD's AT ST.

LUCIE NUCLEAR PLANT This refers to the telephone discussion between L. A. Franklin of this office and Mr. Buchanan on May 31,

1984, concerning the wearing of USNRC TLD's at the St.

Lucie Nuclear Plant.

Apparently a technician working at the entrance to containment advised an NRC inspector that he was not to wear any dosimetry other than that supplied by FP&L.

We are confirming your statement that this was a

misunderstanding on the part of the technician and that USNRC employees are allowed to wear NRC TLD's as well as licensee TLD's in the performance of their duties.

Please advise me concerning any questions or problems.
