In Amendment 33 to Operating License No.
DPR-67 for St. Lucie Plant, Unit No. 1, issued in August 1979, the staff identified a number of items that required additional information in the form of design details, test results, or acceptance criteria to assure that the design is acceptable prior to im-plementation of modifications or granting exemptions associated with these items.
In a follow-up,letter of November 24, 1980, the staff reaffirmed the fact that eight items still remained open from the Amendment 33 Safety Evalu-ation.
By letters dated February 11, March 19, and July 10, 1981 and June 10, 1981, you provided additional information covering these eight items.
The staff has completed its review of these submittals and is completing its review of your exemption request to 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix R, contained in your letters of April 12 and April 25, 1983.
All of the eight items mentioned above have either been closed, will be addressed in the safety evaluation that is being prepared'in response to your letters, or were subsumed by your April 1983 letters.
The specific items and their disposition are as follows.
The numbers correspond to the numbers used in Amendment 33 and in our November 24, 1980 letter.

The exemption requested ulith regard to the fire pump con-troller will be addressed in the safety evaluation being prepared in response to your April 1983 letters.
3.6 Fire Door Evaluation - you committed to install 26 approved fire doors and asked for an exemption for six doors.
This will be handled the same as for item 3.1.4.
3.7 Ventilation Duct Penetrations
- This was subsumed by your April 1983 letters.
3.9 Cable Spreading Room - Fire Barrier - This was subsumed by your April 1983 letters.
