St. Lucie Unit 1 Bechtel Job 14015-017 Verification of Proprietary Information Bechtel Files: A-21, S-205 V-491, The United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is in the process of issuing a second round of Safety Evaluation Reports (SER) to nuclear power plant licensees in connection with licensee response to NRC IE Bulletin 79-01B and NUREG 0588. These SERs supplement the Technical Evaluation Report performed by a national laboratory under contract to the NRC and contain information regarding manufacturer's environmenta1 qualification documentation, including test reports and engineering analyses.

By law, these SERs and TERs must enter the public domain unless all or part of the document. is considered proprietary as provided for in the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 10, Part 2.790(b) (10 CFR 2.790(b)).

We are representing our client, Florida Power and Light, in an "effort to obtain information from equipment manufacturers who supplied qualifica-tion documentation to Florida Power and Light concerning the proprietary

.nature of the documents.

Enclosure A lists documents supplied by your company for St. Lucie Nuclear Power Station, Unit 1, which has been evaluated by the NRC and their consultants. Information contained in your documents will be made public unless you request the NRC to withhold such information from public disclosure as provided in 10 CFR 2.790(b).

(1) You do not consider any information contained in documentation listed in Enclosure A proprietary, or (2) You consider all or part of the information proprietary and that you intend to send an application for withholding together with required affidavits to the NRC.

Your notification to us does not satisfy the requirements set forth in 10 CFR 2.790(b); this notification must be sent by you directly. to the NRC. In addition, please note that 10 CFR 2.790(b) (Enclosure B) requires supporting affidavits by an officer of your company.
