Status of independent vs existing design comparisons for verification items 3 8:

a.

Item 3 Cntrl Rm Emer enc Cleanu S stem Valve 1)

Received electrical documentation to complete receipt of existing design information from Project Team.

2)

Electrical comparison sheets were completed.

3)

Applied Physics comparison essentially complete.

4)

HVAC and I&C comparisons complete.

b.

Item 4 H dro en Recombiner 1)

Electrical comparison sheets were completed.

2)

Final review of Radwaste comparison sheets in progress.

3)

Civil, I&C, HVAC and Applied Physics comparisons complete.

c.

Item 5 Area Radiation Monitor 1)

Electrical comparison essentially complete.

2)

Applied Physics comparison nearing completion.

3)

I&C and Civil comparisons complete.

d.

Item 6 Tornado Missile Shield Door 1)

Part of the remaining needed existing design information was received Nov ll. Continuing to expedite receipt of the balance.

2)

Preparation of Civil comparison sheets was active.

3)

I&C and Plant Security comparisons are expected to start early in the week of Nov 15, and be completed by Nov 17 along with the Civildesign comparison.

Item 7 Main Steam Isolation Valve 1)

Balance of previously requested existing design information was received from Project

Team, and requests for additional information during the period were promptly processed.

2)

Completion of design comparison is estimated by Nov 17.

Item 8 HEPA Filter for ECCS Area Ventilation S stem 1)

All requests for existing design information have been addressed by Project Team.

2)

HVAC comparison sheets were completed.

3)

Applied Physics comparison substantially complete.

4)

I&C comparison complete.

Status of work being performed by ETF as interface with C-E Task Force-re expansion of component boundaries for verification items 1 and 2:

a.

Item 1 HPSI Pum 1)

ETF questions regarding the elementary wiring diagram were resolved via discussions with C-E Task Force.

2)

Electrical and I&C independent designs are expected to be completed Nov 17, following which they will be presented to the Review Committee for completeness review. Design comparisons will commence following Committee authorization/receipt of requested existing design documents.

3)

Independent verifications of actual vs allowable pump nozzle loads and of pump foundation existing design are expected to be completed Nov 17.

b.

Item 2 SIT Isolation Valve 1)

Anticipate electrical and I&C independent design completions Nov 16, with Nov 17 presentation to Review Committee for completeness review.

2)

Comparison of designs will proceed following Committee authorization/

receipt of requested existing design documents.

3.

Unresolved item (discrepancy) reports resulting from design comparisons are being prepared and finalized. Those differences which cannot be resolved by the Task Force will be addressed in Review Committee meetings starting Nov 17.

4.

Civil and I&C discipline work was active on Saturday, Nov 13.

SUMMARY

C-E TASK FORCE NOVEMBER 8 NOVEMBER 12 1.

SIT Isolation Valve piping installation drawings were requested and received for the purpose of determining exact elevation of motor operator.

2.

Carried out additional interface d'iscussions with Ebasco Task Force regarding electrical Instrumentation 6 Control requirements for EVP Items 1

& 2.

3.

Discrepancy reports resulting from independent design comparison are being finalized in preparation of the next Review Committee meeting.

4.

Continuing to prepare on-site verification check-lists for EVP Items 162.
