DESIGN REVIEW PHASE 1.'Verification Items 1-2 (C-E)

Comparison of independent and existing designs progressing for Item 1 (HPSI Pump) b.

Information required to complete design comparison has still not been completely received.

c.

Status of additional workscope C-E Task Force and Ebasco Task

Force interface:

1)

ETF questions

'on the Elementary Wiring Diagram~which was generated by C-E Task Force for Item 2 (SIT Isolation Valve),

are being resolved within the'wo groups.'ndependent I&C design work is in progress by ETF.

2)

An Elementary Wiring Diagram, prepared by C-E Task Force for Unit 1 (HPSI)

Pump) was handed to Mr Blodgett by, Mr Miller, at the meeting for use in independent design by ETF electrical and I&C disciplines.

3)

ETF stress analysis and civil discipline interface will involve

,independent verification of actual vs allo~~able pump nozzle loads; independent verification of pump foundation existing design; and checking existing anchor bolt design against pump mfgr's t

mounting requirements.

2. Verification Items 3-8 (Ebasco a ~

Design comparisons for Item 3 (Cntrl Rm Eme'rgency Cleanup System Valve),

Item 4 (Hydrogen Recomhiner),

Item 5 (Area Radiation Monitor), and Item 8 (HEPA Filter for ECCS Area Ventilation System) are all expected to be completed dur'ing week of November 8.

b.

Lack of timely receipt of requested existing design. documents for Item 6 (Tornado Missile Shield Door) and Item 7 (Main Steam Isolation Valve) is adversely affecting progress on design comparisons.

Strong expediting efforts for the needed information continue'.

Review'Committe Action a..

The Review Committe will meet November 17 through 19, as

required, to address resolution of differences resulting from comparison of independent and 'existing designs for specific items which cannot be resolved by the Task Force.

b.

The Committee will convene first at Ebasco's New York office and then move on to Combustion Engineering's Windsor office.

B.

FIELD 'INSTALLATIONVERIFICATION PHASE 1.

The on-site phase of the Engineering Verification Program is tentatively scheduled to start on November 29.

2.

The C-E Task Force is continuing preparation of detailed check lists for Items 1 and 2.

C.

MISCELLANEOUS The EVP Report outline was discussed.
