'y ENGINEERING VERIFICATION PROGRAM/SL-2 HBASCO TASK FORCE MEEKLY STATUS SUK1ARY FOR PERIOD SEPTEMBER 6- SHPTEMBFR 11,1982 I

1. Work continued on the independent design review phase of the program, with priority items one (H~ recombiner) and two (main steam isolation valve) continuing << receive the most attention. Independent design of the 1i.2 recombiner is scheduled for completion September 15.
2. No response has been received to date re our September 2 information request letter (EVP-306/SL-2) despite requests to expedite. The request pertains to the main steam isolation valve (priority item 2)
3. A meeting of the FPL, C-E and Hbasco Task Force Managers was held on September 8, in the Ebasco New York office to review program progress.
4. The HVP Task Force Managers will meet with the NRC in Bethesda on September 14 to discuss the EVP program and the measures used to assure program independence.
5. The EVP Review Committee will meet in Florida on September. 16 'concerning completion of the first independent designs and release of existing designs for compari on.
6. Work continued on a selective overtime 'asis . No work was perfomed on Monday, September 6, ~n observance of the Labor Day holiday.

1. Safety injection tank isolation valve calculation checks are continuing.

Completion of the independent design package is now scheduled for 9/15.

2. Three additional qualified engineers have been selected and will be assigned to the C-F. Task Force during September. A total of eight engineers are now assigned on either a full-time or part-time basis.
3. Those portions of design input not yet received were discussed and tabulated at the 9/8 meeting of the Task Force Managers.
