Branch, we find that we need additional fnformatfon regarding the St. Lucfe Plant, Unit 2 FSAR.

The specific information required fs listed in the Enclosure.

For your information and use, the staff position on safe shutdown capability is included as part of the Enclosure.

Responses to the enclosed request should be submitted by June 12, 1981.

If you cannot meet this date, please inform us within seven days after recefpt of this letter of the date you plan to submit your responses.

On May 5,- 1981, a meeting with your staff was held to ensure they understood the fnformat5on -needed to answer the questions fn the Enclosure.

During this meeting, it became clear that there were differences fn our positions about fire protection.

We agreed that a meeting should be held between FP8L and NRR management to discuss these differences.

Therefore:,

you should provide us items for the meeting agenda within seven days after 'receipt of this letter after which a meetfng date will be established.

Please contact Hr. Nerses (301-492-7468), St. Lucfe 2 Project Manager, ff you desfre any discussion or clarification of the enclosed report.
