THREATENING TELEPHONE CALL a
a At approximately 10: 30 p.m.
on September 22, the St, Lucie County Sheriff '
Department received a telephone call from an unidentified male,'pparently under the influence of alcohol, stating that he was going to blow up a nuclear plant.
The St. Lucie plant and the Federal Bureau of Investigation were notified by the Sheriff.
The plant security force increased their surveillance of the plant.
Plant security personnel identified the caller by listening to tapes made of the telephone call.
The telephone call was made by an off duty member of the plant contract security force.
The caller was arrested by local authorities and charged with a misdemeanor and released.
The individual was immediately ter-mxnated by Florida Power and Lz.ght Company.
Media interest has not occurred.
A news release is not planned by the licensee or NRC.
The State of Florida has been informed.
IAT was notified.
Region II (Atlanta) received notification of this occurrence by telephone from the licensee at 11:30 p.m.
on September 22.
