This refers _to the routine inspection conducted by Messrs. R.- A. Paul and

M. A. Kunowski of this'office on March 27 through April

1~, 1990, of.activities

at Dresden Nuclear Power Station, Units 2 and 3,_ authorized by NRC Operating

Licenses No. DPR-19 and No. DPR-25, td the dis~ussion of our findings* with

Mr. E. D. Eenigenburg and others at the conclu~ion of the onsite inspection,

and to the discussion by telephone -with Ms. D. Saccomando on April 10, 1990.

The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined during

the inspection. Within these areas, the i~spettion consisted of a selective ..

examination* of procedures and ~epresentativ~ records, observations, and

intervie~s with per~onnel.

No violations of NRC. re~uirements wer~ identified by the insp~ctor~ during the:

course of this inspE!ction; however, several exposures exceeding administrative'.. *

1 imits and an' unplanned extremity exposure of 7 rem appeared to' result from a *

weakness in ~rejob dose evaluation. *The weakness.is addressed in Sectiori 5 of

the enclosed Inspection Report.
