This refers to the special safety inspection conducted by S. G. DuPont,
L. R. Greger, J. H. Neisler and R. A. Paul of this office on March 25
through May 26, 1989, of activities at Dresden Nuclear Power Station,
Units 2 and 3 authorized by Operating License No. DPR-19 and No. DPR-25
and to the discussion of our findings with Mr. E. Eenigenburg and others
at the conclusion of the inspection.
The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined
duri~g the inspection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of
a selective examination of procedures and representative records,
observations, and interviews with personnel.
No violations with NRC requirements were identified during the course of
this inspection. Although no violations were identified, the licensee is
requested to submit a written response addressing actions and plans being
taken to preclude future* releases via the Isolation Condenser during
possible loss of offsite power for an extended period (Open Item
249/89010-02).
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790, of the Commission's Regulations, a copy
of this letter and the enclosure(s) will be placed in the NRC Public
Document Room.
