OCT 1 4 1988 NRC Region III recently received an allegation concerning the impl~mentation of security act~vities at the Dresden Generating Station.
The enclosure to this letter describes the allegation received which requires resolution and a response.
We are concerned that the identified issue may represent
- inconsistent implementation of established procedures which if left uncorrected, may result in violations of NRC requirements.
We request that you initiate-an investigation in order to fully analyze the allegation and determine if the allegation is substantiated or not; and take all actions you deem appropriate to resolve the issue.
We also request that a written report of the results of your review and the disposition of this matter be provided to us within 30 days of receipt of this letter.
We request that your response contain no personal privacy, proprietary, or safeguards information so it can be released to the public and placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
If necessary, such information shall be contained in a separate attachment which will be withheld from public discldsure.
