Thank you for your letter dated July s. 1988 written 1n response to Inspection
Report 50-237/88009(DRSS}; 50-249/88001(DRSs). fnfonning us of your proposed
program to control overtime ~or selected rad/chem technictans at Dresden
Station. This program. if properly procedure ltzed .and implemented appears
responsive to our stated concern. However, we dfsigree, fn part, wfth your
stated 1nterpretat1on of NRC policy concerning this *atter. We also have
concerns regarding 1mplementation of the Generic L*tter 82-12 guidance for
1naintenance and other nonoperations personnel. as well as f11Plementatfon of the
guidance at other CECo nuclear power stations.
As suggested in your July 5, 1988 letter, and discussed with-you by telephone
on July 22, 1988. we would like to iaeet with appropriate CECo staff members
during late August or early September 1988 to review our respective policies 1n
this matter.
We understand that you* will coordinate CECo attendance at such a
meeting and wtll conwnuntcate with Wayne Shafer or Robert Greger of m,y staff tn
thts regard.
