Dresde-ri Nuclear Power Station, Unit 3 On January 7, 1988, a conference call was held between CECo (Butterfield, et al.) NRR (Holahan et al.) and Region III (Norelius et al.). The ca 11 was to inform the NRC staff that a number of containment penetrations which were due for Appendix J type B or.C tests' had not been tested.
Base.d on the information presented., the staff concluded that Dresden Unit 3 could continue _operation P".'Ovided the following requirements wo~ld b~ met:

All penetrations. that could.be tested while the station was *in operation should be tested, The leakage history of the remaining penetrations that were due for testing or would betome due for testing prior to shutdown bn
- March 26, 1988, and could not be tested while in operation, would:.*
be submitted as a part of an exemp~ion request;

T~e exemption request would* be submitted by Monday, January 11, 1988, for the penetrations which were due for testing before March 26,* 1988, and which cannot be tested *during operation,

CECo would provide information regarding the status of the same tests for other CECo plants.
Items 1, 2, 3, 5, and 7 have been completed by CECo and it has committed to Item 6.
Consistent with the conference call on January 7, 1988 the staff has concluded that Dresden Unit 3 may continue operation while the exemption is processed.
