This refers to the special safety inspection conducted by Messrs. R. Hasse
and J. Hopkins of this office on September 29 through October 1, 1987, of
activities at Dresden Station, Units 2 and 3, authorized by NRC Operating
Licenses No. DPR-19 and No. DPR-25 and to the discussion of our findings
with Mr. J. E. Eenigenberg and others of your staff at the conclusion of
the inspection.

This inspection was conducted to determine if you had satisfactorily completed
the actions described in CAL-RIII-87001, Amendment 1, issued on March 17, 1987,
addressing your licensed operator requalification program.
The inspection
consisted of a selective examination of procedures and representative records,*
observations, and interviews with personnel.
The results of this inspection indicated that, with the e~ception of an Open
Item, the CAL had been adequately implemented .. The Open Item is described in
the attached inspection report.
No violations of NRC requirements were
identified during the course of this inspection.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy*
of this letter and the enclosed inspection report will be placed in the
NRC Public Document Room.
We will gladly discuss any questions you have concerning this inspection.
