AUG z 5 i987 Docket No. 50-265 Docket No. 50-295 Docket No. 50-304 Docket No. 50-373 Docket No. 50-374 Docket No. 50-454 The Office for Analysis~and Evaluation of Operational Data (AEOD) has recently brought to our attention the significant improvements that your organization has made iri the quality of your LERs.
AEOD has completed its second evaluation of LERs for Quad Cities, Dresden, Zion, LaSalle and Byron.
In all cases, there were significant. improvements in quality compared to the first evaluations, not only in the overall LER score,. but in the text, abstract, and coded fields, as well.
In AEOD's first evaluations, your facilities scored either at, or below, the industry average at the time of the evaluations.
In the second evaluations, your facilities scored considerably above the industry average.
This is particularly noteworthy since you have outpaced the general increase in the industry average during the period of time.
All of your plants are in the top scoring 16 plants, with Byron the current industry leader.
The results of the AEOD evaluations of your LERs. are commendable and apparently reflect your commitment to us in your letters dated February 3, 1986, and February 5, 1986, concerning Dresden, Quad Cities, LaSalle and Byron LER improvements, which were in response to the first AEOD Evaluation Reports.
