EXTENSION OF DEADLINE FOR CONFIRMATORY CALCULATIONS REQUIRED BY THE CYCLE 8 RELOAD SER Dresden Nuclear Power Station, Unit No. 3 In a letter dated April 25, 1983 Commonwealth Edison Company (CECO) provided information in response to a requirement in the Dresden Unit No. 3 Cycle 8 Reload SER that confirmatory calculations of MAPLHGR, fuel rod internal pressure and fuel centerline temperature be provided prior to ENC bundle exposures exceeding 10,000 MWd/MT.
This infor-mation, as well as other data furnished in the above submittal, has been evaluated by the staff which has determined that CEC0 1 s request
.to extend the deadline for Cycle 8 confirmatory calculations is acceptable with no safety impact to the remaining operation of Cycle 8.
CECo will be required, however, to perform these calculations with fully acceptable methods prior to reaching 15,000 MWd/MT or Cycle 9 startup, whichever occurs first.
The staff's Safety Evaluation documenting the review of this issue is enclosed.
