MONITORrnG OF ELECTRIC POWER TO THE REACTOR PROTECTION SYSTEM Dresden Nuclear Power Station, Unit Nos. 2 and 3 The staff has completed its review of the subject as noted above based on the submittals and the telephone conference referenced in the Technical Evaluation Report (TER) attached to the enclosed Safety Evaluation (SE).

This SE incorporates the technical input in the fonn of a TER provided by the staff's consultant, the Lawrence Livermore Laboratory.

Based on this review, the staff concludes that Commonwealth Edison's proposed design modifications relating to the monitoring of electric power to the reactor protection system are acceptable.

It is my understanding that you have agreed to submit an application requesting a license amendment which*would propose appropriate Technical Specifications related to this issue. Note that this application should be accompanied by fees required by 10 CFR 170, and should also address the requirements of the Sholly Rule (48 FR 14671, April 6, 1983).
