- has issued Amendment No. Sfr to fa~ilit~ Operating License Nci.' DPR-25, issued to Commom1ealth Edison* Company (the licensee), which revised the 1 i cense and its. appended Techni ca 1 Specif.i cations for. operc.t ion of the
- Dresden Nucl~ar Power Station, Unit No. 3, located in Grundy County, Illinois.
- The amendme~t authorizes a Technical Sp~cification change which r~quires*
- the effective subcritical multiplication factor (Keff) in the spent fuel pool Be maintained below 0.95 and incqrporatesa new License Condi~ion.~.M which (l) approves the installation and ~se of. fiv~ high-density storage racks iri-the**.spent fuel storage pool for Dresden Station Unit 3, (2) req~ires fuel stored in the spent fuel pool to have a*U~235 loading less than or equal to 14.8 grams per axial centimeter, and (3) requires no loads heavier than the weight of a single fuel assembly and handling tool to be carried over fuel stored in the spent fuel pool. The license am~nd ment also incorporates the requirement that the FSAR be updated to reflect the four commitments relied upon by the ASLB in reaching its decision.
The application for the amendment complies with the standards and
~equirements of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Commission's rules and regulations.
The Commission has made appropriate
