MAR ~ 1 1981 This is in response to your letter of March 9, 1981 regarding a peak pellet exposure restriction of 40,000 MWD/ST on fuel now in Dresden Units 2 and 3 and Quad Cities Units 1 and 2.

As you correctly state, the peak pellet exposure restraints were removed generically by our letter from R. L. Tedesco to R. E. Engel dated November 7, 1980, Therefore, the 40, 000 M~fD/ST limit given in our November 12, 1 980 letter approving extended MAPLHGR limits was not appropriate and should

. not be.applied.
