Il., nuc It is our understanding (see Moline Daily Dispatch, Sunday, March 15, 1981) that "Commonwealth Edison Co. wi1.l ask the federal Atomic Safety and Licensing.Board later this month for permission to more than double the capacity of the Quad-Cities. Nuclear Power Station's spent-fuel pools."
~ This would be a disasterous development for the whole Quad~
Cities area.
Now that the. federal government has abandoned its plans for storage at Morris, Il.,* it is no time to start playing.
a shell game with i;he_ other Illi.nois sites.
It's time for a*nuclear moratorium.in the state of Illinois
.until the storage/transit issµe can be resolved.
The most recent radioactive steam incident.at the Cordova plant Thu:rsda,y, March 12,.just;. dramatizes further the gravity of the situation tha~ gets w~rse instead of better.
Sincerely, Smith utive Director
