NRC INSPECTION REPORT 50-237/98012(DRS); 50-249/98012(DRS)
Dear Mr. Kingsley:
On April 27, 1998, the NRC completed an inspection at your Dresden Nuclear Power Station,
Unit 2. The results of the inspection were discussed with Mr. Mike Heffley and other members
of your staff on April 27, 1998. The enclosed report presents the results of this inspection.
The purpose ofthe inspection was to review the implementation of the i-nservice inspection
program for the Dresden Unit 2. refueling outage 15. In addition. this inspection also reviewed
activities associated with your installation of the emergency core cooling system suction
strainers.
We concluded that, overall, the implementation of your inservice inspection program met
ASME,Section XI requirements. The areas examined during the inspection are identified in the
report, The inspection consisted of a selective examination of procedures and representative
. records, interviews with personnel, and observations of activities in progress.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its.
enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
We will gladly discuss any questions you have concerning these inspections.
