PLAN (TAC NO. M96943}
Dear Ms. Johnson:
By letter dated October 3, *1996, Comm6nwealth Edison Company (ComEd, the licensee) submitted the inspection plan for the core spray piping at Dresden Nuclear Power Station, Unit 3, for NRC staff review and approval.. The core spray piping will be inspected during the D3Rl4 refuel outage.
ComEd intends to use the recommendations of the Boiling Water Reactor Vessel and Internals Project (BWRVIP) guidelines BWR Core Spray Internals Inspection and Flaw Evaluation Guidelines (BWRVIP-18), in the performance of internal core spray examinations and evaluations.
ComEd believes that the-implementation of an inspection plan, based upon these recommendations, will satisfy" th.e IE Bulletin 80-13 commitment regarding the performance of core spray sparger examinations at each refuel outage.
- The staff_has evaluated the report prbvided by ComEd and found that the inspection plan is acceptable.
